Manufacture Process

1. Looking for water hyacinth. It is rather easy because it is among the most widely distributed species. Its leafstalk is spongy and inflated, and the upper lobes of the purple flowers have blue and yellow markings. It regenerates quickly and often clogs slow-flowing streams.

2. Washing: clean itself off the dirt that is attached and eradicate the unpleasant odor. To wash it, just spray with clean water and the dirt attached to it will be shattered by slamming.

3. Separating from its stem: separate the stems from the leaves, the target of this stage is to classify which materials will be made into placemats or other crafts.

Separation can use large knife or scissors. Can you use bare hands to process? Of course yes but is is appearing to put you in a plight because water hyacinth is resilient and hard. That is why you had better use those tools with a view to separating.

4. Drying: The simplest way is to dry it in the sun. This tactic is also considered as the best method over those dried with an oven or other dryer in terms of quality.

5. Weaving: There is a pattern we just make it plait or maybe knit from water hyacinth which is dry. Highly seasoned artisans usually create different designs, so each product is only made a little.
