Tobramycin

Tobramycin, also known as Tobramycin, is an organic compound with the formula C18H37N5O9, which is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Clinically, it is mainly suitable for the treatment of neonatal sepsis, septicemia, central nervous system infection (including meningitis), urogenital system infection, lung infection and other diseases caused by gram-negative bacilli.

Tobramycin can bind at the 30S and 50S binding sites, blocking the formation of the 70S complex and preventing mRNA translation into protein, resulting in cell death. It is mainly effective against gram-negative bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Proteus and citrobacter. Clinically, it is mainly used for serious infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as gram-negative bacteria, especially pyobacter aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and pneumococcus, etc., burn infection, sepsis, respiratory system infection, urinary system infection, gallbladder biliary tract infection and serious soft tissue infection.
