Our double pitch roller chain sprocket is usually made of 1045/SS304, Customers requires C45 double pitch sprocket to do black oxide. double pitch sprockets are usually exported to the North American market. The weather there is humid, so the customer asked us to do blackening and anti-rust.
A standard roller sprocket has the same outer diameter and width as the single pitch equivalent sprocket, with only a different tooth profile to allow the chain to fit properly. With an even tooth count, these sprockets only engage the chain every other tooth, since there are two teeth per pitch. On an odd number of teeth, any given tooth only engages every other revolution, which of course increases the life of the sprocket.
