What Does A Shifter lever micro switch do
Shift lever micro switch are usually placed under the mechanical structure of shifting system, to detect movement from shifter lever and to generate electric signal which helps computer control gear switching in different positions. In some special cases of shifter application, mini waterproof micro switch is also used as on-off device which opens or close the circuit. The switch is controlled by an electromagnetic valve, when the shifter is on parking mode, the open circuit help latch the shifter lever at "P" position; while once the driver step on brake pedal, it would activate the electromagnetic valve, and indirectly actuates the switch to close the circuit and unlock the shifter lever, at this moment, you are free to shift from Mode "P" to other gear positions.
