Optical Multiple order Waveplates
*Waveplate is a plane-parallel uniaxial crystal plate with the optical axis parallel to its surface. The light incident normal to the surface is composed of two polarized components: Ordinary wave and extraordinary wave. When the light propagates through retardation plate, the polarization is changed.Phase different introduced by waveplates is 2π(no-ne)H/λ, which is called retardance. H is the thickness of waveplate.

*Multiple order waveplates(Low Order Waveplate) are made from a single crystalline plate, are designed to give a retardation of several full waves, plus the desired fraction.Multiple order waveplates are more susceptible to change in wavelength and they should not be used more than several nanometers outside of design wavelength.
