Optical Ball Lenses
*Lenses have many applications in range from the simple collection of the scanning of laser beams to precise imaging and image transferring. Lenses are classified as single, cylindrical and achromatic lenses according to the different applications. Our company provides these lenses with the material of optical glasses, crown glass and Flint glass, fused silica, sapphire, silicon and germanium. Special focusing systems are able to be designed by engineers upon request.

*Plano-Convex Lenses is best used where one conjugate point (object distance S or image distance S' ) is more than five times the other. This lens shape is near best-form for either focusing collimated light or for collimating a point source.

*Ball lenses are commonly used for laser collimating and focusing, laser-to-fiber coupling, fiber-to-fiber coupling, and fiber-to-detector coupling. Larger spheres are easier to handle and ease the sensitivity of translational alignment. However, smaller spheres fit into smaller packages. Coupling efficiency is generally >90% due to the simplicity of these lenses.
