SOURCE
The lac dye is refined from the resinoid excreted by female laccifer lacca parasitizing in bean or mulberry section, with components of Laccaic acid (85%) and Laccaic acid B, C, D, E, etc.
APPEARANCE
Red or fresh red powder.
PROPERTIES AND FORMULATIONS
?Soluble in water.
?Produces Orange-red at PH 3-5, produces red to purple-red at PH greater than 7.
?Good stability to heat and light in acid condition. Losing colour in alkaline condition. Easily influenced by metal ion especially Fe.
?Coloring ability varies as PH varies. It becomes worse and worse as PH close to neutral.
?Applicable to soft drinks, carbonated beverage, compound wine, jam, confectionary and so on.
