IBM 3580 L11 Ultrium 1 Single External LVD SCSI Tape Drive

The IBM 3580 Model L11 is an Ultrium Tape Drive. It provides media capacity of up to 100 GB (200 GB with 2:1 compression) data storage per cartridge and a sustained data rate of up to 15 MB per second (uncompressed) and up to 30 MB per second when using 2:1 compression. With support for IBM LTO Ultrium-format tape data cartridges, the 3580 Ultrium Tape Drive provides an excellent migration path from digital linear tape (DLT), 3570, 1/4-inch, 4mm, or 8mm tape drives, autoloaders, or libraries. They are cost-effective solution for backup, save-and-restore, and archiving functions as a part of the family of IBM Ultrium tape products. The IBM 3580 Tape Drive Models L11 adn L13 feature an Ultra2/Wide SCSI Low Voltage Differential (LVD) interface.

The IBM 3580 L13 is identical but came with a 3-year Customer Element Exchange warranty. Since the last new models were sold toward the end of 2004 there are no longer used L13's with warranty remaining.
