How Automobile HUD Works
The HUD is essentially an optical device that works in much the same way as a projector, projecting the information it needs to display onto a transparent medium in front of the driver.

HUD consists of two parts: PGU (image generating unit) and optical display system.

The PGU is the core component of the HUD. It generates the HUD output image (speed, distance, weather, indication, etc.), which is then transmitted to the car windshield by the optical display system, and finally be seen by the human eye.
