Fusidic Acid

Fusidic acid, also known as fusosporic acid, sodium fusosporic acid, sodium fusosporic acid, fusosporin, or steridomycin, is a fusosporic acid antibiotic with a steroid skeleton, its chemical structure is similar to cephalosporin P, not a hormone. Produced by the fungus Fusidiumcoccineum or certain Cephalosporiumspp. The antibacterial spectrum is narrow, similar to neomycin, but the effect on Bacteroidesfragilis is obvious, and the effect on Streptococcusspp and S. neumoChemicalbookniae is weak. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the protein synthesis of bacteria, and play a bacteriostatic or bactericidal role. It has a strong antibacterial effect on staphylococcus (including methicillin resistant strains or other antibiotic resistant strains), streptococcus, enterococcus, diphtheria, Clostridium, Neisseria and tuberculosis bacteria, and has a certain antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragile. In addition to Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Clostridium difficile, fragile bacilli and other gram-negative bacteria sensitive to this product, others were resistant to this product. In vitro, staphylococcus bacteria easily develop resistance to this product. Bacteria have no cross-resistance between this product and other anti-infective drugs.
