DESCRIPTION
Biotin HPDP CAS:129179-83-5 is a thiol-reactive biotinylating reagent that is a membrane-permeable biotin-labeling reagent that forms reversible disulfide bonds. It is used to label protein cysteine and other thiol-containing substrates. The disulfide bond created between the target sulfhydryl molecule and the biotin group can be cleaved by a reducing agent to release the biotin group and regenerate the protein (or peptide) in its original unmodified form. The interaction of biotin-HPDP with thiol-containing substrates is readily carried out in buffers such as PBS at pH 6.5 to 7.5 by cleavage of disulfide bonds with dithiothreitol (DTT) or other reducing agents, whereas Rather than attempting to dissociate the high affinity interaction between avidin and biotin with strong acids or denaturing agents, the captured biotinylated molecules can be efficiently eluted from the support.
