Application: Earth graphite is widely used in casting paint, oil drilling, battery carbon rods, steel, casting materials, refractory materials, dyes, fuels, electrode paste, and used as pencils, welding rods, batteries, graphite emulsion, desulfurizer, preservative anti-slip agent, smelting carburizer, ingot protection slag, graphite bearing and other products.
Amorphous graphite, that is, earth-like graphite, also known as microcrystalline stone ink and black lead powder. Amorphous graphite does not really have no graphite crystals, as its name implies, but its crystals are too small and have a microcrystalline structure. X-ray analysis shows that amorphous earth-like graphite contains 15% to 45% crystalline fossil ink, so amorphous graphite is also called microcrystalline stone ink.
According to its production form, amorphous earthy graphite can be divided into two kinds: dispersed earthy graphite ore and dense massive earthy graphite ore.
Dispersed earthen graphite ores mainly occur in the fracture zone or cleavage fracture surface of flake graphite ores and have mylonitic structure. The composition is complex and unstable, mainly composed of plagioclase, quartz, graphite, tremolite, chlorite, etc. The scales are crushed into small fragments, some of which are black stars, and their crystal shape is difficult to identify with the naked eye. The ore grade is low, generally 2% to 3%, and does not have industrial value.
Dense massive earth-like graphite ore is mostly formed by contact metamorphism of coal field by thermal metamorphism. The ore is black and dense, with a range of characteristics from graphite to anthracite. Graphite content varies, generally 60%~80%, the lowest 15%, the highest 90% or more, the composition of minerals in addition to graphite, there are sericite, quartz, pyrite, calcite, limonite, clay and so on. This is the main characteristic of earthy graphite.
